A Successful Collaboration with New Vendor Nokia for Greece

The Challenge
Logicom Greece signed a distribution contract with Nokia in June 2010. This new collaboration was great success for Logicom Greece as it meant that NOKIA trusted Logicom, the biggest IT distributor within the Greek market, to increase the official distribution of mobile business within the market.

The challenge for the Logicom team was to investigate the mobile business, and to develop existing collaborations with major targets to increase the Nokia official distribution market share within the retail business

The Solution
The Logicom team began with a number of “face to face” meetings with major retailers, in order to achieve Nokia product placement within their stores. Different strategies were designed and communicated based on each retailer’s unique characteristics. Nokia products were promoted, and the right price, profitability and marketing actions (merchandizing & below/above the line activities) were offered in order for Logicom to achieve the “major deals” of the retail market. 


The Results
The retail market showed trust in Logicom and the results confirmed this successful collaboration. Within 6 months, Nokia products were located in all retail markets through the official distribution channel, and the sales out figures exceeded Logicom’s expectations. The Nokia market share also increased within a couple of months.
